Better late than never, here's the important stuff :

Start from the Topaz on Fonthill Road South, that's the Clondalkin side of (what used to be) Newlands Cross, beside the entrance to Bewleys Hotel. If you haven't been out that way since they finished the flyover make sure you keep left whether you're approaching from the M50 or Rathcoole direction. From Belgard Rd it's still straight across. Irish Grid ref is IO 07128 30532

We'll be there from about 09.30, leaving at 10.00 sharp :rob, full tank & empty bladder.
Tea will be taken in Carrickmacross - the Greenmount on the Main St, opposite the Garda Station - at 11.30. Irish Grid ref is IH 84093 03732
We should be on the road again for 12.00. Aidan will be leading the Northern part, from Carrick if he gets his lazy ar$e outta bed or else from Camlough
Lunch will be served in FishCity, Ballinahinch from 14.00. Irish Grid ref is IJ 36722 53018

As it's the last run of 2014 I'm hoping there'll be a good turnout. Post up if you're coming or even if you're just a maybe.
See youse all on Sunday :bounce1

I may be there if I get my ducks in a row.

Another year dawns - may we all blossom & prosper. :beerjug:

Run cancelled !

Folks, I've taken the decision to cancel the run.

Anyone who's attended a Dec/Jan Fish Dash before will know we're no strangers to a chilly run but reports of snow this evening around Ballinahinch after black ice this morning plus a very cold day in prospect tomorrow have left me no choice. There's no fun in travelling up on motorway & I think the minor roads are going to be too dangerous.

We will reschedule, if only to see what award winning fish & chips taste like. Watch this space...

Thank You Jockser

Thanks Jockser. ;)
Shoulda seen our house -

Wanna go :bounce1 / it's feckin freezin'!
STILL wanna go :( / it's coldddddd :rob

We STILL wanna go but 'sense' set in and we'd decided not to after looking at the weather...
about 10 minutes before you posted this. :D

Let's do it soon though. :thumb

Good decision. Most of the main roads around here are untreated. It's still freezing here with little showers of rain to make road conditions worse.

A very sensible decision in light of the weather, not much enjoyment to be had out there tomorrow. Looking forward to next time.

Good call guys I was just back in from Ballyclare and it seems the gritters haven't been out
main roads like skating rinks

Not fun in a 3.5 tonne automatic Sprinter :eek

Good call. Side roads in Cavan un treated. Just out with the dog, and it's slippery !!
Look forward to the re schedule

Does mean you're heading to Cashel then...??

Thanks JR for making a good call, we break easily at this age and even though the food is legendary, it would not make up for the suffering of an off.

I am watching ya!!

A pity to have to cancel but probably the right decision given the conditions. When are you home next Bin?
