Now for some reason trying to find an open Chippie in the NE, especially around the coast on an Sunday PM seems like a Mission Impossible trip.

Can anyone recommend a pukka chippie out that way that is open on a Sunday? [1]

Kebab shops and other fast food outlets don't cut it.

Cheers.

[1] the chippie in Low Westwood should open on a Sunday for starters and close during the week :-)

been testing fish and chip shops all my life including the raven whitby, but the best ever is on the dock @ amble PERFECT10/10.
west midlands "the famous majors fish bar bilston"

That one is called the quayside chippie in amble, it is ok but the harbour chippie a little further along the road on the corner is better. All the locals use the harbour one. There is plenty at Seahouses aswell

Where in the NE?

Anywhere along the coast - Berwick down to Blyth on the right hand-side of the A1.

Had your chips

Ive always found the futher away from the coast the better the fish lot.
Chippy in Hawes is spot on and the curry sauce is the best.
Only drawback is its full of friggin bikers.
