My Adv came with nasty, starting to rust low powered spots. I decided to change them to a set of CREE 10w ATV/4x4 'worklamps'. I think they look good and are very very powerful. They will require some angling later this evening on a local byway. I am pleased with the OE 'factory' look. The LED daylight running lamps (not lit in the pics) have proved good as well; these were on the bike when I purchased it but although slightly bling they get me seen especially in darker back lanes and people tend to move over or give me more room with them.

Just need to fit a HID to the main light and that is the whole bike ready for some adventures further afield.

Just had another great day out around Beachy Head and Alfriston on the By Ways awesome weather. The trails were fantastic, few rooty and rutty sections with lots of gravel in between, my Tourances were ok but going for a pair of TKC's in October for Winter riding.

I was hesitant to post where I sourced the lights from, price etc as was not sure of other members, this site and if I was treading on peoples toes/or business interests.

If it's cool I can post? Or can PM people (if I can do that as I am not yet a paid up member).

You can't PM until you join the site and pay your £12...

But in the meantime 'publish and be damned' :beerjug:

They are from Ebay from a Chinese seller with good rep selling a myriad of lights etc. Will dig out the seller when I get back from work and post a link.

Cost me £54.25 for both delivered to my door all in no other fees. He sells singles or doubles with a Best Offer facility on the item, I knocked a few dollars of what he was asking and made him an offer. Arrived in 2.5 weeks from payment, really well packaged, foam encased box with bubble wrap along with all the fittings to attach the light to the light bar in stainless steel.

Had a choice of beam spot or flood etc; differing degrees. Low consumption, powerful, long life, shock resistant et al. Think they are made for ATVs, 4x4's, boats etc. Very well made and sturdy.

Easy to fit. Actually I am in awe each time they go on.

Think it's a Touratech one?

Not 100% on that; but the little Dakar placard emblem is machined out on that the headlamp protector and the centre stand bash plate. Is that their own quirk/TM design?

The daytime running lights are from Halfords.

Yes it is a Rugged Roads one. Can be seen here

The little cutout is our little TM. So if you seen one, on a bit of stuff you are admiring, you will now know where to go to get it.

looks like the ones fanum had on display at the hogroast

They are, but these are Chinese copies.
(and are unlikely to be a genuine Cree chipped LED, although they probably are 10w ones)
Ours have a 2 year guarantee and although a bit more expensive, have 24 hour delivery (depending on time ordered) and are CE, IP67 and fully tested/quality controlled.

I'm not all that clued up about LED lights but they have been amazing and given the supplier is down the road from this place:

"In 2009, Cree announced an agreement to purchase a 592,000-square-foot (55,000 m2) facility in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, China. The facility will be Cree’s first chip production facility outside of North America and is targeted to also house future components manufacturing expansion." Wikipedia

I wonder what is left of the USA manufacturing side of things...same thing happened in carbon road bike frames with the US outsourcing to China.

Spec

Hi

What spec did you order pin light or flood, I think its either 30 or 60 degrees on the beam.

Regards

I went for two pencil beams they were 8 or 10 degs. They had flood at various degs as well but felt that I didn't need such wide dispersal or coverage.
