Fitted some new bits today.

Regarding the Camel toe has any one else with an F650GS noticed you have to use side stand and leave it pushed out when putting bike on the BMW center stand if you don't then the tang on the center stand catches in the toe of the Camel toe if the side stand is up when you take bike of center stand, you are then unable to use side stand as the two are locked together. To prevent this the side stand needs to be deployed to prevent this happening when bike is pushed of the center stand, looks a bit silly seeing bike on center stand with side stand still sticking out but saves any issue trying to unlock the two whilst sitting on bike, not easy trust me been there done got Tshirt. Not a big issue but I tend to deploy side stand when getting of the bike especially if bike is loaded up with camping gear don't fancy trying to get of bike and trying to hold the weight of bike on one leg and trying to then swing the other over the bike, tried that once with an R1200GS adventure lets just say it was very embarrassing getting help to lift BMW's demo bike of its side in front of the dealer, luckily no damage except to my pride.

Yes the very same :D second nature now, side stand comes down as I dismount :thumb

Talking of side stands;) does yours stay put when extended or flip up?When i first got mine it stayed out now it flips back unless i keep my foot against it.This tends to lead to some butt clenching moments when parking on slight cambers.

Mine stays put but bike still less than 1yr old, it stays put even when I dont deploy it wish it didnt especially when I have a senior moment and lean it over thinking stand is out doh, 1st drop and felt so stupid :barf but thankfully have crash bars, 5mins with smooth hamerite and although still marked you need to look close. Now I actually look down to check its deployed before leaning it save that sick feeling you get when you realise bike has leaned past point of no return :eek

Striped the Stand down today, knocked out the bush with a suitable size drift(I recomened taking the footrest off as well) and be carefull when refiting the small nylock nut that retains the cut out switch,as it is easy to strip the thread.
The items in the photo are the old parts (ignore the spring washer on the pivot screw its not from the bike, there is a plain washer not in photo).Although ther is no obvious signd of ware there is a small amount and that is enough to let the side stand spring back.

After refitting all is now as it should be with the stand staying in the down possition and not trying to spring back .

All done ,the Side Stand now stays forward, and does not wobble from side to side as much.

The old seal.

Also noticed a small bead of brake fluid running down the side of the reservoir.
When I took the lid off and removed the rubber there was fluid above it ,it was very wrinkled so I bought a new one and fitted.
I have been told that due to all the shaking of the reservoir BMW now fit a sponge and on some older bikes there is a weight in side the top of the rubber.
I'm not suprised fluid ends up above the seal with the amount a shaking going on .
Why don't they mount it solidly?

HID fitting

I took the rear bulb cover of the back of the highbeam headlight unit .
I then drilled a hole to take the HID wiring rubber gromit .
Fitting was straight forward, although I could not make up my mind where to fit the main unit so I have velcroed it above the mainbeam on the outer casing for now.
I may buy a second hand headlight unit to see if I can fit all the bits inside the headlight shell.
I also fitted a Fiamm Airhorn in place of the original (pathetic)horn.

I got a larger sidestand foot from Rugged Roads and there is no interaction between it and the centrestand on my 650gs so I reckon it must be slightly smaller than a Cameltoe. :nenau
What I really must do is get the new bushes for the sidestand as there is a bit of side play on it.

My CT and Centre Stand are fine ,no touching up going on there :beerjug:

Is your bike an F800GS if so center stand on that bike does not have the sticky tang that the F650GS has, emailed guy that sells the Camel Toe not to complain but just to point out the issue I had, he promptly responded by saying he would refund cost if I had not used it, emailed back saying I was not looking for a refund was just advising him of the issue I had and asking if he was aware of this and if he had any suggestion, any still cant figure out how he thought I had an issue with out actually fitting and using the Camel Toe but it does highlight his return policy
Any way as I said to him happy with product but just have to watch when using, if any one has an F650GS and has no problems with the center stand catch the side stand when they take bike of the stand please post pics, might be that I have just positioned camel toe wrong, remember side stand has to be up before you take bike of center stand, side stand then prevents center stand from fully going up and in my case the two lock together. As stated not a problem now I am aware and ensure side stand is down before bike is taken of the center stand, and it does the job it was designed for stops stand sinking even on grass :D

I thought it was odd that the 800 GS mainstand does not have a bit that sticks out to put your foot on ,I find it a bit of a job to locate the main stand with my foot.
