Having successfully fitted an Adventure tank etc to my GS12 I have eventually sicceeded in finding a set of Adventure upper and lower crash bars (06 with the upper bars using a split fitting on the lower bars)

My remaining problem is the fitting of the brackets at the top of the upper bars to the bikes front subframe. Having spoken with staff at Balderstons in Peterborough, it appears I need a later subframe as the first GSA came out in 06, BUT, having looked on the Motoworks web site for second hand frames, the pictures listed seem to indicate that the subframe for an 04 GS and an 06 GSA are the same! The 08 is clearly different based on the images printed off. Is this correct? Have any forum members done this swop themselves? Can anyone provide a definitive answer for what part(s) I now need? Should I just fabricate a suitable bracket for both sides?

Regards
Bob

Making your own brackets, to mount the protection frame for the larger tank.....................

You will be an insurance assessor's dream :thumb2

If it ain't a simple swap of parts - I'd stay well clear. Chop the GS in, and buy a GSA :rob

GSA Crash bars to 05 GS

Thanks for the replies gents - part numbers show the same fairing frame for GS and GSA so they should fit
Have to go back again and see if it is something obvious like not pushed far enough in but I would have thought the mounting point for the upper bars on the lower bars would make that unlikely but "Hey Ho" lets have another go!
Nayone by any chance able to take a couple of pictures of where and how the top bars mount?

Photo of top brackets hope it helps
