Courtesy of Mr Whatton I have inherited a set of std bars for an 1150. But whats the trick to getting them to fit around the header pipe on the nearside? They come up about 25mm short (away from) of the top mounting when they contact the header just under the oil window.

FWIW I am assuming they sit between the rubber bushings and the sump guard.

Offside line up perfick. I reckon the header pipe is aligned OK since the Y piece slotted straight on and lined up with the can.

Is it time for the scaffold bar and an evening in with my heavy mates ?

If these are the BMW engine bars, they fit underneath the sump-guard. PITA at service time.
