I'm very satisfied with my GS1100 but I'm quite jealous on beautiful GS1150 dual headlights I saw that Touratech have two replacement models but they aren't looking good as 1150 headlights

Answer - is it possible to fit 1150 headlights and windshield on 1100 ( medium modification is acceptable )

Thank you !

Best regards,

Andrej

I dont know about the technical issues regarding this change, but the 1150 lights are very bad. I have heard that the 1100 light is stronger. Personally I wouldn´t change! I suspect the Touratech option is better.

I was in zagreb for the first time this summer, really really nice city!

cheers

Just returned from Zagreb, nice city but the experience was marred by the most aggressive waiter I've met. Not even sat down & he was throwing the menu at us. We complained to the owner, as did several others.

Rest of the country was beautiful, from Zagreb we went on to Porec on the Adriatic coast, very nice.

Can't help on the headlight issue except to say that the 1150 lights are pitiful, I can't imagine the 1100's being worse, so I'd stick with what you've got.

NOOOOOOOO! Why do you think us 1150 types have to spend good money on extra lights? Because somehow the 2 lights give half the light by design.

Yep - quite standard behaviour in some places. Can you remember name of that restaurant ?

Yes, Istria is very beautiful - south Dalmatia is more impressive with nature and sea, but people ther aren't qood as in Istria ( they just want to take your money ).

Last week I've discovered Soca, quite impressive river in Slovenia ( about some 60 miles north from Porec ) in Alps region - it was one of best ride that I have in a last few years. More details on www.dolina-soce.com

No problem - I will buy some extra lights, but I still want them :)

Today I checked prices with local BMW dealer and headlight+housing+holders+small parts+windshield will cost about 350 EUR.
But unfortunatley, they don't know will this parts fit on 1100 :(

Does anyone know if you have to fit an additional relay when using the Touratech dual headlight on an 1100? Looks to me like the amps are switched directly by the handlebar switch and I couldn't see anywhere what the current rating of that is.

Yes thanks - I saw that a while back and it's a very interesting mod but I'm a bit too lazy to take on something similar. To be honest I've never been that keen on the 1150's lopsided lights, and there were the generally bad reports from 1150 owners about their effectiveness too. I went the Touratech route in the end and I'm pretty impressed with the results although I admit the style is "functional", it's just that in retrospect I'm concerned about doubling the current through the switches.
