Fitting a BMW plug to a battery charger

I had a BMW charger which plugs into the auxiliary socket on the side of the starter motor casing (R1100GS) but it's died.
I want to connect the plug to another charger which currently has crocodile clips on the cables but I need to know which part of the plug is the positive and which is negative..... anyone know ? I guess doing it the wrong way round could get exciting

CENTRE PIN IS POSITIVE !!!

That should be all you need Also check and clean out that power point the charger may be okay but the connection point is full of green verdigras pooh!

Good point - probably worth having a good clean of the socket in case it's loaded with crub but it worked a few weeks ago and I haven't been doing anything dirty since then , at least not on the bike but the charger just seems dead.... no light nothing so I assumed it had died. Thinking about it now it does seem strange that it shoudl die when not in use. It was on the shelf - where I put it back after the last charge and this time nothing.....

Have you checked the fuse??

Nope..... coz there isn't one over here in Belgica it's a 2 pin plug straight into the national grid. Fuses are for sissies

I think he means the fuse in the charger...not the plug
