Hello,

Right, have got around to ordering the bits for my light set up (well... as far as I know  ) - as you might guess I'm a bit electrically bereft. I have:

1 set Hella FF55's
1 set Hella Micro DE's
1 Migsel Light Bar
1 Nippy Norman Autoswitch

OK.. is there anything else I need? :nenau

Thanks everyone, and sorry for such a stupid Q.

Cheers
Rob

Ballast?

I've read on some other posts about Ballasts, however, I don't think I have these? Opening the boxes of the Hella lights.. there are just the set of lights and nothing else. Should I have anything else? Help.. sorry again :eek

How are you intending to switch the lights? You mentioned an autoswitch from NN, so I'm guessing you are going to have one set switched and one connected with the high beam?

I take it the Hella light kits come with relays and a wiring loom?

May be teaching my mothers mother to suck ovoids on this one, but make sure you order the 1200 specific version of the sutoswitch.

Ballasts are for HID lights, you don't need them for standard ones.

That's what I'm aiming at :thumb

Ah. Not so good on this. There's certainly wiring there, but it says that the wiring harness and relay are accessories and not included. :(

Your going to have to siurce a relay then for the lights connected to the high beam, I fitted 2 sets of PIAA lights which came with a wiring loom and relays so I am not sure of what type or where best to get one, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly who does.

Good luck with the project :thumb

Can you believe it! :) I just looked for a hella dealers so I could see if I could source the bits needed.. turns out there is one about 1/4 mile from where I live. Been round there, (GP Auto, Romford) been through it with a really nice helpful chap and got the appropriate bits.

Thanks to you.. it seems I'll need a little less luck. Have an e-pint for now, if you're ever at any of the events I'll replace it with the actual... :thumb

Glad you were able to get things sorted, I had help fron BTBR when it came to connecting mine, just passing it on. :D

Just for additional info I connected my lights so that one set were on with the main beam and was able to fit both relays in the tool kit holder, made it neat and tidy.

I was told by NN that autoswitch could not work with CanBused GS12???
Isn´t that right?

I think there is a new autoswitch which will work with the GS1200 canbus. It works off of the high beam switch instead of indicator cancel.

NN autoswitch

Good to know, but a bit late... I have already done the installation...

Hi there.
Im new to all this so please excuse any mistakes.
I won some spot lights off e-bay from a chap in Germany.Real nice lights that fit under the beak of the gs. The kit came with two lights with brackets .Full wiring including a super switch .And full fitting instructions...... In German...
Fitting the lights and brackets was easy enough .But the wiring!

Still .I thought how nice they looked . And hey , Who would know they didnt work.

Then a quick phone call . And a mate with a meter and a brain .Came to my rescue.Four hours and no fingernails later .I have working lights. Although the switch takes some getting used to.

If i can be of any help . drop me a line. Photos to follow.
