Well, it's a squeeze.
To save you the grief...
1. Remove the expanded polystyrene spacer under the original battery.
2. Remove all the fins from the positive end of the battery.
3. Remove the fins directly below the negative terminal.
4. Remove the angle plates fitted to the battery. You might just be able to manage without doing this.
5. Secure the positive terminal.
6. "Gently ease" (Haynes manual speak) the battery into place.
7. Have a fight with the end cover getting it back into place.
