Can anyone help with photo instructions on how to fit the headset into a Shoei Multitec?

Some photos of how the wires go for the boom mic and the noise detection thing.

Thanks in advance! :thumb2

No one has a multitec fitted with the Autocom headset stuff? :nenau

Just a couple of photos of how you wired everthing would be greatly appreciated.

Tom

I have a Multitec with Autocom fitted.

It is so easy to do, much simpler than an Arai.

(1) If you have it fitted, take the draught collar off. It makes it easier. You can re-fit it afterwards.

(2) The speakers go into the cut-outs, where your ears are. You can see them at the top of the buckle straps. You may have to take the cheek pads out. I don't think I did, either way, these are easy to take out, too. Hold the speakers in with velcro.

(3) The wire of the loom slips in under the rear of the neck padding. You can hold it in with little bits of gaffer tape, but I didn't bother.

(4) The lead for the Autocom wire exits on the left of the helmet. If you hold the helmet upside down, chin pointing at 6 o'clock, so that you are looking at the bottom of the helmet, the wire exits at about 10 or 11 o'clock.

There is not a lot to take a picture of, to be honest.

Take the wire loom, attached to the speakers and simply hold it up against the inside of the helmet. It becomes obvious what you need to do.

Cheers Richard!

I will give it a go .. hope it doesn't end in tears ..

Hi Guys,

Well finally fitted my new autcome kit which I just had to get as part of this recent sale thing they are doing.

I've got a Multitec and fitted the speakers in the ear recesses but I find them quieter than I would have expected. I've got the volume turned up full whack. I found that it sorts it for me if I move them closer to my ear (only about 5-7 mm difference but makes it much louder. Has anyone else had issues with this?

I'm thinking I might just put in a thin layer of foam behind each speaker and see how that helps. Any tips/advice would be great.

Also is it correct that you basically just stick the boom mic on with a bit of sticky tape? Thats what the autocom manual seems to imply.

cheers

nick

We use strips of self adhedsive velcro as insulation tape does not stick to well and becomes very unsticky when warm/hot.

I found that the egg shape of the speakers makes a massive difference as to where the actual "speaker" bit is located near to your lughole. If you have a gander at the installation document that came with your Autocom kit, it gives concise directions as to how to locate the speakers for optimum volume.
Now I have lovely loud muzak as I wend my way.
Go on...ask me how I know :augie

:beerjug: cheers GSrich,

I'll get down my local sewing shop and pick some extra up as I've used all the autocom supplied one up. Would good old fashion Gaffer tape do it? I know they use this stuff on jet fighters to cover up bullet holes. .... errr ... apparently.

Cheers spanner.rash,

I spent ages looking through all the stuff GSrich has ever posted :thumb2 and found the cure... As I'm using a zumo 550, I upped the master volume on the zump to full wack and damn its loud now !! So looks like I don't need to do too much to the speakers now. I'll just fit the mic this weekend and see how thats goes.

I nearly end up in a hedge when the lovely zump lady told me to take the turning ... I thought it was the misses nagging me again - lol

No worries, as for duck tape I see it a lot and rip it out a lot so I will let you have a think on that one lol.
