Just wondered if anyone can shed any light on what i need to fit an OEM BMW topbox to my recently purchased 2000 F650GS Dakar. I have managed to source the rails and bosses to mount the vario panniers but am drawing a blank when it comes to fitting the top box. I understand that the top box fits to some of the original grab handle assemblies but can't find any details as to which grab handles these are and whether they will fit an early single spark pre 2004 F650GS. Can anyone offer any advice? I am sure someone has managed to do this. Also, on the trip home the lockable cover between the grab handles disappeared which is a royal PIA as the lock was operated by the ignition key. Anyone got a spare cover they can sell me? Owned and ridden GS twins for 25 years and 200K miles but really impressed with the 650, an underrated bike. Thanks for any help you can offer!

You’ll need to find used a top box adapter kit as they are no longer available from BMW

Many thanks, that helps explain what I need to fit the existing grab handles with the tool locker. Does anyone know if it is possible to swap the early style grab handles with the later ones that incorporate the top box mount inot the grab handle? If anyone has one of the top box adapter kits to sell please let me know. Many thanks!
