Hi All,

I have just picked up my new ( secondhand ) carbon intake snorkel from the Post Office :) ( thanks H.R.H. Oonyack ).
Just had a quick look and I guess you have to relieve some of the airbox to allow it to seat correctly.

I am fitting it to a 2002 GS with Adventure tank. ( the snorkel is for an Adventure )

Could someone, who has done this before, give me any pointers ??? before I start hacksawing and filing and then have to put a 'Wanted' new airbox ad on the site.

Will be doing the job tomorrow afternoon, hopefully, thats if I recover from tonights opening night at Rotherham Beer Festival :beerjug:

Should slide straight in, I have one on my standard 1150. It is a wee bit tight and at first seems out of line, but a bit of 'persuasion' gets it in...:thumb

I've done the same and know what the problem is ... HOWEVER, I never bothered hacking anything off of the airbox and found that really screwing down the top (2 screws) actually sealed it properly, not affecting performance - looks 'unsealed' from the outside but it is sealed because the slight 'lips' on the top of the airbox actually form a seal inside ...

... if that makes sense?

Oh, the snorkel really needs to be pushed down hard into the cut out in the airbox ... just keep pushing until it goes in - its hard work.

Sorry its not that much but you can try fitting without cutting first.

Nick

Thanks
