Fitting electrical accessories to a DR350?

Tobermory, Snoopy, thats very helpful - thanks. Food for thought. :thumb

DRZ not an option - I already have the DR and unfortunately it's :loveheart which means I'd have to buy the DRZ outright, and I cannot have 4 bikes especially as I'm after a new 'main' bike next year and one of the three is going to have to go anyway :blast From now on I am only buying bikes I know I won't like.

I just looked up my Chilli waistcoat - it only takes 38w. So swapping out some of your bulbs for LEDs should mean that your DR can cope with the load.

I assume that your DR has a headlamp switch. Although I wouldn't advocate riding a bike on the road without a headlamp, switching it off will save nearly twice the power that your jacket might consume.

It's against the law in Norway and apparently the traffic cops are a bit 'pro-active' over there, but more importantly there isn't going to be many hours of daylight while we're there so the headlamp will in demand!

Plenty for me to be thinking about - fortunately my dad is an electronics engineer so if I play my cards right I might be able to force him out of retirement to help me implement some of the above suggestions.

Thanks for all the advice - I'll check out those Chilli waistcoats.
