I want to fit extra lights, (1 pair of the small 10w LED spotlights and a pair of slightly bigger 15w LED spots) to Jills 100GS. But have come up against the 'oil cooler on the crash bar' barrier. It definitely pays to look at the other side once you have decided that the crash bar is the best place to fit extra lights :blast

It's a 92 paralever, but because Jills legs don't stretch to a standard height bike it has been lowered, the OE faring removed and a lightweight Acerbiss bikini fairing fitted instead. This only has a 5" light, that even with HiD fitted isn't up to much.

So I was wondering, has anyone come up with a method of fitting lights to the bike bearing in mind that it does not have the roo bars? I'm loath to pay £80 for a kit to relocate the oil cooler too. What did you do?

Will they hang under the top of the crash bars, if you know what I mean?

The smaller set will, but they'd be very close to the exhaust and cylinder head. Melted wiring problems etc. The lager set won't fit there.

Does it have hand guards or the originals.

If you had Bark Busters you could attach the lights to the metal bars, and improve the lighting position, being much higher.

Couple of pictures

Took these today.

My LED lights are mounted to the lower triple clamp. I reckon you could mount the lights above the oil cooler but coming off the bottom cooler mounts using a channel shaped bracket.

Would that fairing/light housing not support some big fekkoff penny washers/plates inside so you could bolt through it to mount the lights up on the side of it?

Looking at it, that's where I'd go for (or at least start tapping away to get a feel for the spread strength of the area)

Steering adjusted lights.......all the rage :beerjug:
