I've just acquired a set of Holan pannier frames for my r1150gs, but they come without any mounting instructions.
Mostly it seems pretty obvious, but has anyone got any instructions they can share?
I've got a Remus exhaust and the exhaust side frame seems quite a tight fit. Anyone who's done this before got any tips, or shall I just bend and hit things till they fit?

Right then...my plan was simply to tweak the position of the Remus can so it points a bit more in at the rear, but the *%! thing is stuck solidly on the y-piece.
I've soaked it in WD40 for a day, undone the clamp nut, applied a heat gun to the clamp and beaten it with a big hammer - and still nothing.
Anyone who has a Remus can/Y-piece, is there something else hidden that's holding this in place?
Or does it just need sterner persuasion?

All ideas gratefully received!

I have normally just undone the clamp and hanger bolt. Stand to the side of the exhaust and just wiggle, wiggle whilst pulling and more pulling. Eventually comes off. If nothing else just undo the hanger bolt and see if you have enough slack to slip in some washers to push exhaust can inwards until you can clear the panniers

Thanks Stujw70,

It's a strange clamp, that seems to be connected to the shiny heat shield, so very hard to access. The part where the bolt clamps it all together has a couple of metal inserts, these have all fused to the clamp itself and the bolt - so in spite of cutting off the bolt at the end and trying to drill it out, it's all still solidly stuck. I found the receipts for the Remus system in the bike paperwork, looks like this was fitted in 2002 so it's been there for a while!

I'm going to be out of the country all week, so it's being handed over to a professional...
