Hi all,
I bought a top box (metal mule) for my 1150 GSA.
The rack to mount it is bolted though the top of the existing rack (like the BMW one I have), but it has two legs that run under the rack to the pannier mounts.
Problem is that I have already got a set of alu panniers fitted. The place for mount is already taken by the bmw one.
Its quite a thick fitting and I'm not to eager to sandwich the bmw pannier mount , the metal mule and the bike subframe mount. The MM rack mount is about 5-7mm thick.
Anyone solved this?
I have thought about angle grinding the 'legs' off the metal mule rack... OR going for the sandwich approach and just getting longer bolts. I would need to 'pack' out the other bolt thats above the one that the MM uses.
Any thoughts anyone?
