I have just bought and am ready to fit a shiney Remus revolution end can to my 2007 GS, the origional item comes off nice and easy but I've noticed there's some kind of greyish sealant where the two pipes where joined.

My question, is there somekind of sealant I should use when fitting the Remus can? There's no mention in the instructions (but they are faily basic)

Could someone help?:):)

Probably just a silicone jointing compound (like bath sealant).

not really

The can will fit in a few minutes, i dont use any sealant or gum just ensure that the clamp is done up correctly. once fitted as soon as you fire it up blip the throttle just to make sure their are no leaks ( dont burn yourself :D )

If their is a slight leak you can adjust the clamp or if needed add some sealant, it will only take a couple of mins to take the can off if you need too.:thumb2

Excellent thanks for the feedback, the can looks great just need to hear the sound out on the road now

Clear silicone sealant (B&Q) I was told, Ive tried it and it works!
I've tried it and it stinks!
Nip the clamp up properly and you won't need sealant. I've just put a Remus Ti on my 09 12GS and fitted loads of aftermarket "mufflers" to various Harleys and I.M.O. silicone sealer is a no-no. Good stuff to dab on screws and fixings for screens/plastic panels/hand guards etc, though.
