Hi Folks,
I know this was a hot topic back around 2004 when I bought my GS.. and somehow I never got around to it. I bought larger tank but never got fitted due to time and lack of use of the GS, and so never got around to looking at the quick disconnets.

Currently the GS has a dead alarm, which hoping to sort soon. For that I suspect the tank will have to come off to give proper acess. So looking at possibley installation of quick disconnectors whilst its being done.

So firstly.. I recall a photo guide somewhere on here, but it migth have gone and my searching is not finding it.. anyone seen/found the thread recently by chance?

And secondly.. where and what type/make/model number etc of connectors do I need?

Mines a bog standard 1150..

Thanks in advance.

John

John, if you need the quick disconnects for the L to R balance/transfer pipe, getting a couple of the 90 degree male couplings seen here make for a tidier job and ease of release :thumb2

Having said that, I'm sure Fanum will be along soon to say that if you get a 6 foot piece of fuel hose and run it around the engine twice, then up over the handle bars and around your left leg, you won't need to buy these ;)

looking for some quick disconnect petrol pipe fitting's
was going to use the type mentioned above, but i read that they're not for pressurised system's, or are they,??

You can buy the fittings as a kit from Beemer Boneyard in the US. Someone in the UK might be doing the same thing and it's no doubt cheaper to source the fittings yourself from a distributor.

Try THIS thread from 2012.

I got the one from Tom Parker (Post 8) and it's a piece of art in itself. :thumb2

The Beemer Boneyard fittings are top notch both halves being chromeplated brass. Shouldn,t break like the plastic Kit is good but slightly more expensive to get from the US. I sent an e mail and managed to blag a discount ( adventure rider )

They've always been pretty good guys to deal with and in my experience their prices are reasonable. I didn't know about the advrider discount! Good to know because I'm about to order a bunch of this and that for my 02 1150 GSA, including these disconnects (noticed a bit of leakage at a joint) and new external and internal fuel lines. I'm having it all delivered to my brother in the US and carrying it back so it will save me a bit on postage.
