Picked up the new GSA yesterday (blue). How do BMW keep improving these machines???? It feels a totally different bike. Early days but very happy so far :)

So now I have a Nav V and want to listen to directions and music.

I have ordered a Schuberth C3 Pro and Sena S20 after much reading.

Just wondered about any experiences out there. The unit will mount on the left hand side where the slider for the sunshade sits. I presume the unit will mount out of the way of the slider?

Any one got ant tips or advice for the install?

Thanks in advance.

I posted up some pics etc on a Sena 20S fitted to my C3 Pro in response to another post on here. Have a search for it

I used the adhesive pad to mount mine, as the wire running around the base of the collar obstructed using the clamp mount
It's been a solid fit so far.

Good luck.

Thanks for the help and the pictures. I tried searching, but this helps.

I tried using the clamp, and you can get it to mount by squeezing the internal leaf of the clamp between the outer shell and the sleeved cable that operates the release mechanism. However, to my mind, the plate that the headset unit mounts onto did not sit well on the shell. So I ditched the clamp and went for the mounting that fixes to the outside of the shell with adhesive pads. It seems to be secure and I have no worries about it dislodging.

What may not be visible in the pics I posted, is that I reoved the padded neck-guard bit of the helmet and made a couple of small cuts/nicks in the circular mounting piece. This meant that the wires from the headset unit connecting to the the headphones and the microphone can be quickly placed between the inner shell and the padded liner , for a neater finish.

I also concluded that the boom mike with the adhesive pad fixing was a better and neater installation than the boom mike that screws into the headset unit mounting plate.

Thanks for all the help.
I fitted the unit with the sticky pad.
First impressions are that sound is clear for music through I phone, directions clear for GPS but this does not work together for some reason? I am 99% sure I have to do some fiddling with the pairing to make this all work.
Calls seem OK, but my wife phoned me from a convertible car and I couldn't understand a word she said. I however was crystal clear, so problem may not be with Sena. Going to research this more.
Voice activation does not seem to activate the unit. A little research suggests the unit put this function into standby to save battery life. If you activate the unit by tapping it twice this allows you to speak commands. Not as voice activated as one would assume!
All paired easy enough at this time, pleased enough at this stage.
Thanks again.

I have also installed a Sena 20 to my C3 Pro ( leaky helmet only works well on dry days !) .
The improvement when compared to the stupid Schuberth SRC is astounding !

compared to the SRC its in a different league !
better FM
Longer battery life
Easy to operate
communicates with friends ( the stupid SRC would only pair with other SRC devices)

I absolutely love the SENA 20 S ( £189 amazon prime)

I got a few spots of rain on me today with my C3 Pro - bit strange that. Whats that all about.

I do need to try and link the BT units together. At the moment I found that I could not hear the Sat Nav instruction very well. By reading the display for road names and listening I could about make it out. I am wondering if the kit is loud enough, this was at relatively low speed.

Plus I think I need to turn off the speed warning on the Nav (3 beeps) I think that interupted a call I was taking, not allowing me to make or take any further calls (bit frustrating for the person who thought the worst when they could not get hold of me)

I have put the foam covers over the speakers inside the helmet and I wear disposable ear defenders as I find wind noise is something worth protecting my ears over, I have never had a silent bubble like experience behind a GS windscreen. Nearest I came was an MRA vario screen on my 12 plated GS.

How do you guys find the sound quality and volume?
