I got a 2nd hand ilmberger hugger without any instructions from a guy on this site.
Looked obvious how to fit it ..... one mount is the forward rear brake bolt and the other is the paralever torque arm bolt with the supplied bronze(?) bush. Easy!
However, I then noticed a faint howling noise when riding. It was not rubbing on the tyre and the rear brake didn't seem to be dragging or getting warm. I tried damping the hugger with a lump of blu-tak gaffered taped on but this didn't make any difference. I have taken it off and peace has returned.
Anybody got the mounting instructions just in case I missed something or had a similar experience with this hugger?
Thanks
Paul

Hi, Send me an e-mail to [email protected] and I will send the fitting instructions by return :thumb.

Thats service for you! Nice one..on a second product too! Anyone would think that there are actually some reasonable retailers out there :clap

Were the howls from admiring onlookers as you rode down the street ??

I get it all the time, did it sound like "AHHHHHHH...OOOOOOH" ???... :thumb

Is the 'howling noise' constant?, does it increase with speed?, could it be audible turbulence?

A couple of questions for Sandbar

Just the sort of service we're all looking for. Can we buy on line? or is it a matter of giving you a ring? Buggrd if I could see any "add to basket" buttons.

We decided not to do e-commerce for the moment anyway! Increased costs, security concerns and we find that most customers prefer a quick chat about the products.

You can call - 01295 812792 or (much better) 07836 241420 - or you can send me your number and I can call you. Alternatively I can send you a PayPal invoice and you can pay PayPal :thumb

Just like to say that Nigel@ Sandbar has been 1st rate in sending me new fitting instructions and new Bush. My Sandbar hugger has done 19k and is still VGC and is going on my new 07 bike.
Top firm

Here, here, got my hugger from Nigel about 2 months ago, great service and quick delivery - not the cheapest hugger out there but has been faultless since day one, unlike many others yoiu read about.

It does - same fitting as the 12GS.

it really is a qulaity piece of kit and fits with loads of clearance - make sure you get the long version.

Thanks Sandbar. I will be in touch very soon.... Depends on Christmas it may have to wait till the new year.
