Fitting the Nautilus Horn to a 2010 1200GSA

Wiring help

I've had a Nautilus in my bling box for some time, and have been wondering how/where/if it will fit on a GSA. Great thread, thanks :thumb

I'm happy (relatively) with the physical fitment locations possible, but being fairly cerebrally deficient in electrical connectivity with relays (I'm reasonably proficient with other bits), which pins on the relay go to which bits of the wiring loom(s)/connectors/battery?

I have pins 30, 85, 87, and 88.

I have the NN canbus connector, and intend to remove the standard horn.

Numpty proof instructions would be most welcome if anyone has any!

Thanks in advance

Sorry for the tardy reply.

H/W wiring diagrams that might be of help

Don't skimp on wire sizes for the compressor supply.

If you are going to ditch the OEM horn, I suggest that you get the loom plug from BMW as described in Paul's contribution earlier and reproduced here

61 0 617 - Repair connector, 2-pole (MQS socket receptacle) - Horn
61 0 619 - Repair connector, 2-pole (MQS pin receptacle) - Brake-light Switch

Both items need to be ordered as a tool (P/N starts 80 00 0). Also, above part numbers have been superseded to the following.

80 00 0 610 617 - becomes - 83 30 0 402 342 - Unit Price £7.65
80 00 0 610 619 - becomes - 83 30 0 402 344 - Unit Price £6.95

These prices are about half that of other suppliers, but you can look at their website to see what you are buying.

The benefit of using a plug is that you can remove your (expensive) Nautilus and reinstate the OEM horn.

How about having a horn fitting party? I am willing to host and will provide tea and bacon butties.

Thanks for all the help, peeps. Sorry not replied before, but I never received update messages :nenau and forgot I posted :toungincheek

Well, I managed to find some wiring diagrams, but before I spliced into the loom, I spent a couple of hours trying to get the Nautilus successfully (read securely) mounted with my limited imagination and engineering skills. My brother's an engineer, but it's been too bleedin' cold to ride down to see him :blast

Anyhow, I've given up. Too much hassle (for me) although the horn party may have worked :nenau

So, thanks again, but I'll make do with the Fatherland's standard horn offering for the time being :thumb

Good luck everyone else!

Oh, and even if i don't fit a horn, if there's anything going on near Buckingham (I'm about 10 miles west) my ears will always prick up at the prospect of a bacon roll...
