Fitting Winglets

If it's any help I used a bradawl from underneath to make a pilot hole before using a drill from the top although the bike was a 2009 model so not sure how much that helps :nenau

Get yer head down by the front wheel, shine a torch into the underside of the winglets fitting area and you will see the mounting holes pre drilled in the frame.
Get yer dremmel and drill up through these holes then fit your winglets......Simples!

From 2008 on the subframe under the beak has lugs already on for the winglet mountings. This has been covered many times before but basically you just need to drill from underneath through the holes on the subframe. I used a 2.5mm drill to begin with and went up to 4 and then 5 (or maybe 6, can't quite remember). You will probably have to drill at a bit of an angle but it doesn't matter. Just use slow drill speed and try to get your initial hole as central in the mounting hole as possible. You are only going through the plastic of the beak, piece of piss. I did this just last week, took we no more than 15 minutes start to finish. Use 5mm clip nuts slipped over the frame if you have them.
