All,

Just got a groovy Y piece from Daz (thanks) and merrily undoing exhuast nuts on the original cat etc etc, but when it came to removing the Lamba(?) sensor, it seems to be stuck fast. Got appropriate size spanner to it etc with no joy. I presume that it is conventionally threaded, and not a reverse thread, or am i missing something really simple here. Bike in bits....HELP!! :(

I needed to let 'easing fluid/oil' do it's worst over night.

Then got a BIG Ring spanner on it....had to disconnect the Lambda from the loom to slip the spanner over.

Screw thread is 'Normal'

BIG spanners!!!

CC,

I'll give that a go. I take it it is quite important to keep the sensor (or reattach it to the Y piece)

So did I to disconnect you need to lift the tank just follow the wire up to its connector, this pic might help.

When people refer to a 'Big Spanner' for the Lambda sensor nut, what size is it?
I'm hopefully fitting mine before Princetown so would like it all correct size tools before I start to ease the job.

Cheers

Thanks for the attempt but it was probably too big for my measly 2Gb account what with all the other crap in their. I'll have a clear out and let you know whether to try again.

Cheers to both of you for the spanner size. Don't have 22mm so trip to shops is in order.

See you at P'town?
