Has anybody found a DIY fix for the fuel guage ? mine has been into Clarks 3 times and every time comes back more inacurate than when it went in.

First picture reading empty fuel light on

Second pic half empty when first big bar drops in one go

Third full guage reading

you could bend the float so it actuates the empty reading when the float is lower in the tank -practise on your toilet cistern setting the ball to shut off water at different levels :aidan:augie

i recon the movement is so small that just putting it back in the tank will probably change the reading and the metal arm is not very bendy ! I tried

That is exactly what I was doing on my old 1150GS. Its trial and error I am afraid but you will get the hang of it

Hi poo,

mine reads empty also at 200km which is about 130 miles like yourself, but the reserve telling me I have 70km left only comes on after about 270km and I've found that to be pretty accurate, I just put the trip meter on at every fill up to doulbe check the accuracy so as not to run out.

playing around trying to bent floats etc. is pretty hit and miss, and unless there is a way to recalibrate the electronics I think its a waste of time with the distink possibility of braking something.

How many other bikes do you know with a accurate fuel gauge? we have a trip meter that is accurate what els do we need?

ignore the fuel gauge you should now what you get from a tankfull i personally would not waste time or money on it i have not found one car or bike that is accurate, the trip meter is more reliable:)
feck me all them big words:eek: and i didnt use spellcheck!!
