Fixing left side oil cooler return oil leak

Hi all,

I have an oil leak on the left side oil cooler return, where the oil re-enters the engine. From questions answered here it seems that the washers could be split and I need to replace them.

So I have a few questions:

1) Are these standard size washers? So can I wonder into my local motor factors and hope that they have them?

2) Will I lose much oil during the process? I.E. Will oil pour out of the engine while I have it taken apart?

3) Has anyone got photos of the bolt and parts so I know what to expect when I take it apart? The 1150GS repair manual is not the best in that area.

4) Anyone have the torque settings for putting the bolt back on? Again, can't find it in the repair manual.

Any other info I need to know before I start?

The washers are the same as some of the sump/gearbox drain plug ones, though I cant remember exactly which ones, the right size washers from a motorfactor ought to work, though theyre only pennies frome the stealer/motorworks etc.

Thanks for that Stewart.

It's the two tolls I have to pay to get to the dealers that I'm trying to avoid and the motor factors is a 2 minute walk.
