In a moment of extreme mental and physical coordination last Saturday, I managed to gently rear end and push a friend off his 1200S while we were leaving a petrol station. :blast :D

I'm fixing or replacing the damaged head cover on his bike.
The damage is very minimal.

I was looking for a good quality used replacement cover as that would be faster, but didn't find any yet.

Is there anywhere in London where to get this repainted?

Find one on eBay there will be plenty and way cheaper than main dealer

Its a very easy fix (honestly) if you are good with sanding and filler. File off the high spots fill in the very small dents sand down with 600 wet and dry.

mask off everythig else and spray with Hammerite silver smooth. I am telling you if done properly you wont know its been damaged.

Hammerite silver smooth is an extremely close match.

Probably cost £20 for paint filler and sand paper and an hours work sorted.

Edit: and then get some Machine art head protectors or crash bars.

there always used to be a very good metal finishers in Uxbridge, they used to do all the brake calipers for pretech

It's not my bike. I'm fixing damage I caused.
My friend is super cool about the damage, but I'd rather have someone else (a professional) to do the job, regardless of how simple it is, in case I cannot find a replacement cover.

BUT... :D
If I find a replacement head for him. I'll ask him to give me the broken one, so I can fix it myself for him (and do some painting practice :D ) as well.

Thank you Lo-IQ!

Motorworks should have new or used covers 0845 458 0075

Yes, called them to order other bits (I tore off the fog lamp off my GS) but they don't have any decent valve covers at the moment.
I'll give the guys Lo-IQ posted above a call.

if you do buy a valve cover be aware that the colours can be slightly different year to year

for paint, can you ask your local bike shop who they would use?

Black or silver hammerite, the silver is silver and does not match, so you would need to do both :thumb2
