Sure this will come in useful to those who - like me - managed
to close the pannier without turning the key...

It's easy to break the red catch when you try to straighten it.

To fix the lock you need to separate the lock carrier plate 1 from the pannier.

Drill out the rivets (red arrows) taking care not to damage the
rubber washers.

Drive out the pins from the inner hooks. At this point you should be able
to separate the lock carrier plate 1 from the pannier.

Remove the lid from the carrier plate.

Four shims and some glue keep the lid attached to the plate.

The lock assembly is connected to the carrier plate through 2 rivets.
Drill the rivets out taking care not to loose the washer and spring inside
the lock assembly.

That’s the broken piece. It's difficult to weld because the metal is
of poor quality and too thin. In my case the material shrank as soon
as the torch touched it. It shouldn’t be difficult to make with the right
equipment. This is bad engineering: there's a 90 degree corner
(from which the crack started) and bad choice of material

A repair kit is available at about £ 24 (part # 71607654337). It includes
the broken piece, the lock barrel and some rivets.

Rivet everything back without forgetting the rubber washers

Mine had broken arm (the one that fixes them to the frame) after felling off from the sidestand. Just repaired it.
