Laydeez and Gentlemuffins,
With bank holiday week approaching, and still with some of last year's leave to use up, it is time to get some miles in. I have decided, after very little thought, to do a tour of Scotland's coast. Starting in Berwick upon tweed. Hugging the coast as much as possible, keeping the sea to my right, end up in Carlisle(ish).
The must-dos are:
1) Dunnet Head
2) Cape Wrath - Can you ride there or is there, so I've heard, a minibus that can take you there. How much? Also, all along the Pentland coast line, how frequent are the petrol stations. If widely spaced, where are they.
3) Skye....when does the Mallaig Ferry run. I tried to cross on this ferry some years ago but missed by a couple of days. Do bikes have to pay on the Skye Bridge.
4) Mull of Kintyre (oh mist rolling in from the sea, my....
).
5) The Burrel Collection
Does anyone know which are the good camp sites to stay in and around on this journey. Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated as I don't have a scooby.
