Where was I today ?

Flash,

I was a bit disappointed we got on so poorly with the Glen of Imaal photo, there is a rake of cute hoors watchin' us, by the look of things.

Anyhow, let them try their cuteness on these two....

Note to contestants:

These photos are of places not close or connected to each other...

Dunno :nenau

I tried to cheat.....................Oranmore, for the first one?

Is the other one on the way into the Slieve Blooms towards The Cut?

Vireo, you are a terror!

Liam Mellowes monument came before me when I turned off at Craughwell to see the grave of Raftery An Fhile, which I did not find, BTW. Sounds like a good one for the Galway run, I was too far north.

Wiki says -"Ó Raifteiri is buried at Rahasane, near Craughwell, County Galway" and you can find Rahasane on Google Earth.

The second picture was as you guessed on the road up from Mountrath to Kinnitty, "The Cut". There were a few icy spots on that road y'day morning, luckily only a few spots.

I went to Galway for a quick chat with son and heir, then coffee with PJ, then home.
I have more or less given up going on the N4, much prefer N7 - Birr - Portumna.
There is a road from Portumna to the Galway Road N65 which is a mini Nurburgring. Well, I like to think so anyhow.

Beautiful day, where would you get it?

Ya gotta love Ireland when the sun is out!

Got to agree with you on the N65 and with the sun bit.
You might keep an eye out for photo rally locations for me - off the beaten track and perhaps a little more visual impact than the plaque - it's a bit Mellow :blast

Seriously keep me in mind :thumb

Gerry,
What I meant is that I seem to fly past lovely bridges, valleys, etc. which I think would be nice to photograph. I think it needs a bicycle or Honda 50 to see Ireland properly.

I'm sorting a Mizen Malin bicycle trip later in the year; your on so I take it.

As to the 120K I find you pick up the stuff on peripheral vison; make a snap decision about a U turn or coming back another time. I usually file it in my head and settle for the return trip excuse. Every trip begets a trip.
