I believe there isn't a separate relay as it's built into the dash.

What do you mean? Do you mean its on the printed circuit board?

Yeah I think it's on the circuit board that's in the dash/instruments, may be not even a relay as such. I was looking to change it when fitting LED indicators but couldn't find it anywhere and a post on ADV said that it was built into the dash. I've fitted resistors left and right to the front LED indicators but not the rear LEDs. Both front and rear flash at the correct rate now.

My local BMW dealer workshop say it is at the front right side above the radiator under the air box. Interesting?
There's a few there, including the main starter relay. At least it should be easy to get to!

Well I'm inclined to agree....I have removed the air box and there is nothing that looks like the flasher relay.
Resistors it is then!
