I have a HID light kit fitted to my 2009 1200GS
im very happy with the performance of the lights but i keep getting flashed by the on coming traffic some times in day light.

When my bike was serviced at Clarks BMW Birmingham i asked them to check the alinement of the head light and they confirmed that it is set correctly.
I dont do much riding in the dark but last night i traveled 130 miles from wales to solihull and had several on coming cars turning there full beam on to me which was a real problem in twisty country lanes!
Any body else had is problem?
Can you advise.

It's probably in part caused by yer average car user not really considering that a bike headlamp moves about a bit more than a car's - up/down + left/right as you move around the road.
However, the other bit is probably this - you say the dealer set it. Hmm. Potentially - consider that the guy that set it weighs 9 stone.
He sets it by the book.
If the rider is 16 stone, then the back is going to squat down a bit, the light is raised up and they whinge and moan.

Try going back and get it checked with you and your usual gear on. Failing that, a quiet word at the local MoT place on a Saturday lunch time may do the job. If it's out, then you can moan at the dealer that said it was sorted...

Yes, the reflector in the 1200 headlight does not work as well as the projector lamp did in the 1150. Les sells anti-glare burners which restrict the light going the "wrong" way, and I found that a small piece of tape stuck onto the lens directly over the end of the burner seemed to help as well.

Thanks for your help lads

And yes i am 16 stone!! i wonder what the average weight and height is for a GSer i think we are a big boned lot:comfort

Les is helping me sort it out topman:thumb
