Why are they so crap? I’ve got a decent flight out on Monday using EasyJet but they don’t fly back Friday or Saturday and to be honest there aren’t any direct flights using company approved carriers.

I even considered hopping on a ferry then using a hire car to get home from Portsmouth but the ferry doesn’t operate on Fridays and I can’t fuck about too much because I’m away again the following Monday.

It could be worse, I can get it down to just under 7 hours and just have a couple of hours drinking and eating in Paris or Schipol but a direct flight would have been nice.

Duro Felguera ?

What about flying into Liverpool ?

No direct flights into Liverpool and if we use a company card to purchase flights from non approved carriers it’s a breach of AUP.

In other words it’s a scenario best avoided. I’ve even had a brief look to see what I can get to Leeds Bradford then hire a car there and just hang onto it because my next job is in the UK but it’s no better regarding flight durations then I’m adding 2hrs onto it for the drive home.

Can you fly Aer Lingus? Bilbao to Dublin, Dublin to Manchester without much of wait. When we used to organise lots of international flights at short notice it often ended up the best option was via Dublin, even going to the IOM mostly meant a stop in Dublin back in the day.

I don’t know if Aer Lingus are on the list. We don’t get to see a clearly defined list of forbidden carriers, just a list of available, approved ones for flights requested.

They’re the same with hotels, we’re not allowed to go outside the approved booking system and woe betide anyone who thinks they can be clever and book an all inclusive trip if we’re working near a holiday resort :D
