I've had a BMW System 5 and Schuberths (pre C2 & a C2). The other half has a caberg
Couple of things I take into account; do either of you wear glasses for riding?
The best thing about the C2 is the integral sun visor. It is sooo useful! especially if you need glasses, I don't have to worry about sunglasses now. Another improvment with the C2 over the old version is the visible pegs that show you when the lid face is not locked properly. Popping the visor forward does benefit ventilation, very effective and better than having to open the visor on a System 5 or other helmet. I actually prefer the side catch to open the face as well.
The System 5 lid was a good lid, especially when I put a fog city into it, but I really missed my sun visor. I went for the Sys 5 originally for the integral bluetooth, but that was useless, so returned it for a non BT version. The fit is slightly different to the C2.
At the end of the day. I think comfort should override everything. The safety aspect of all helmets on the UK market is very similar. (They all meet min requirements). If you gotta wear the thing all day or alot of time, go for comfort. The sun visor contributes greatly to my comfort.
