Flip up lids

Schuberth concept 1,2 or 3, which i feel will be an improvement on the 1st two now that Michael Schumacher is in helping further develop the bike side of their hellies:thumb2

oh yeah and since he's not pointing a ferarri he needs the dough:aidan

I've got a system 5 and a multitech.

System 5 quiet, mists badly, 1st visor position too wide, leaks in the rain, uncomfortable after an hour, paint seem really thin! :1/10

Multitech Faultless, oozes quality, dry, mist free and wear all day comfort, quiet with whisper kit, visor mechanism perfect, slots for glasses, recesses for speakers, need I go on? :clap :likeit
Multitech every time for me, but every head is different :nenau
Don't be put off by the d-rings, much better system IMHO as the tension is correct every time.

Schuberth, never again, even after they fixed it for me...

Leaking, misting noisey and unwearable for more than two hours. Was a 1 though...

Shoei helmets were always the best for me. Have not tried the flip up though.

Give the system 5 a miss, indifferent build quality, mists badly and leaks water.
Made by Schuberth BUT to a lower standard than their own helmets, my S1 full face has been faultless as has my wifes C2 and I will be going down the route of a C3 if they fit (due in the UK late September according to Custom Lids).

On the schuberth size scale I am a L and my wife is a XS. The shark helmets on the other hand are M and S respectively.

Sounds like the Nolan will the wife.

If you'd rather buy new, you're still more than welcome to borrow it and see if she likes in when on the bike, rather than walking round the shop for 20mins, slowly cooking :thumb2

Currently sitting on top of the wardrobe gathering dust :o

The seat belt catch on a C2 is of little consequence once the front is flipped down, as its fit is such that its impossible to remove, well on my heed anyhow, mine needs the rubber seal along the bottom of the visor replaced, but may just upgrade:augie

i have used a airoh mathisse had it for about 4 years comfy if a little noisy i use it as my comuting lid went around europe in it last year 14 days 3000 miles no problem does not steam up like the roof did as you move off it clears quickly
use it more than my arai tourx

I just got the newsletter from Polo in Germany, the C3 came out there yesterday at €499 a pop.

I'll put it to the wife if she fancies trying it on. Having read through the posts I will be going to J&S this weekend to try on the shoei. BMW system V helmet doesn't seem to be too popular here! I'll give that a miss then...

Spoke to one of the salespersons from Custom lids who has tried a demonstrator C3 on a bike and reckons it is streets ahead of the C2, Nolan and Shoei etc. ie lighter , quieter and more comfortable , then again they would say that at that price.

Nolan 103

I bought a Nolan 103 from Custom Lids about 3 months ago, I had to return it as the sun visor was a little loose and the visor lever rubber was peeling off. Custom lids upgraded it to the later model by adding a new sunvisor with rubber blades which create friction to stop it from falling and replacing the visor lever with a new hard plactic type which also makes using the sun visor much easier.

This helmet is very comfortable, the lining material has a nice cool feel and the strap catch is a ratchet system which is easy to fasten and undo.

Coundn't agree more. :thumb2:thumb2

Mutitech gets my vote everytime...:clap:clap

Just picked up my multitec today to replace my xr1000, autocom straight in and instant comfort. Nice to have it open around town and feel cooler on a muggy day:) Tried all flip face at Fowlers and none come close to Shoei instant fit and comfort

Damn... tried on a Multitec today and was quite amazed... Now I have the dilema between Schuberth and Multitec...

Although the Schuberth doesn't have a pinlock visor system prepared, it does have the sun visor in it. So it's either sun visor or pinlock...

Stu

FWIW I'm with the Multitech gang bought one earlier this year and have No complaints the Pinlock system is excellent, proved it's self on my wander's in Torrential rain

I don't doubt the build quality of the Multitec or the Pinlock system. I tried it on today at Hideout Leathers and it was a very comfy helmet. I was just a bit annoyed that it didn't have the sun visor built in it. Then I asked myself if I really needed the visor. I have ben riding for 14 year without one and having heard the stories on the web about things that go wrong with it, do I really need it?
I think I will be going with the Multitec as it seems to be the choice. I would like to try before I buy but not many shops offer that service :(
Anyway, the Shoei is cheaper than the Schuberth! :)

The free smoked visor that comes with the Multitec does a good job :)

I have one niggle i still have to take my specs off when putting the Multitec on :(
