My bike (GS1150) has just been knocked off it's centre stand outside my house :spitfire . I have noticed that the sight glass on the frontbrake reservoir is leaking fluid. It appears to have been knocked out off flush. No cracks or anything, just obviously a bit out.

Does anyone reckon that this can be pushed into place ifrom the inside in the daylight tomorrow?

Or are we talking new assembly. There doesn't appear to be any damage (cracks) to the reservoir, that I can see in this light. Just fluid 'pumps' out from around the disloged glass when the brake is used and there is an obvious pressure loss on the brake itself.

Also the plastic cylinder head guard is :censor::censor::censor::censor:ed along with the rear indicator...any idea on the cost of new parts?

Great start to the weekend...last time I order a take away curry from that lot... :spitfire

The master cylinder is worth a try at popping the glass back....though I`ve never looked at how it`s fitted.

Make sure no fluid drips on your bike ( ESPECIALLY not paintwork) in the meantime.

The plastic cylinder head guards are daylight robbery at around £44 each.

Yep...you did read that correctly....

The indicator 'heads' are separate from the stems...you sure it hasn`t just popped off ??

They`re not too expensive if it`s fecked....remember you can get lenses individually from the shells.

Not as bad in the daylight....

Thanks tarka...turns out that it's just banjo type joint that had got knocked half a turn. Fluid was spraying from there, under pressure.

Stiil need a new indicator and clear lense though, along with the head guard...£44...indeed..

Hope they don't offer to pay me curry!.... :thumb I need the money.

I take it RH side?
Is it a twin spark?

I have a c/guard, not pristine but not broken / still works. Do you want it?

Thanks for that, but I've just ordered a new one. He's paying for it, so why not? :thumb

Thanks again for the offer mind.. :thumb

I've got a set of yellow indicator lenses if they're any use to you. Cover the cost of a jiffy bag and postage and they're yours.

Thanks for the offer, but I have the original ones left from when I replaced them with the 'Oh so trendy'... ;) clear jobs from Nippy Norms. I'll stick one of them back on till Norm does his stuff with the replacement.

You meet some nice people on here... :thumb Cheers
