Hi, I will be making a flying visit to Farnhill (Nr Keighley) next weekend. I'm thinking about leaving London around 4pm on the Friday and heading North for about 3 hrs/200 miles. having an overnight stop before making an early start (8am ish) and having about 4/5 hours of riding before ending up in Farnhill. I'll then be heading straight home on Sunday afternoon.

I'd like to spend the Sat morning on some good roads, so any recommendations for the Friday evening stop over/Sat morning ride ending up in Farnhill.

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Ta for reading,

JC

If camping is your thing then Squires Cafe is a biker cafe/pub that offers free camping.

From there back roads to Tadcaster, Cattal, Whixley, Topcliffe, Richmond, Manor Cafe for lunch , Leyburn, Hawes, Ingleton, Farnhill

EDIT Only fly in ointment is long term forecast shows getting much colder

If route of interest can Google map it if you like

Don't worry about the Toll, it is a wooden toll bridge that is free for motorbikes

From Richmond head into Reeth and onto Muker before heading to Hawes via the Buttertubs pass. From Hawes head down the brilliant B6255 to the Ribblehead viaduct and then turn left down the B6479 to Settle. The Hawes - Ribblehead - Settle road is one of the finest riding roads in the UK :thumb2

Avoid the A65 between Settle and Skipton as the traffic is very heavy during the day on a Saturday and there are not many overtaking opportunities. If you have satnav, plot a route out of Settle on High Hill Lane - Black Gill Lane - Scosthrop Lane to Airton and then follow the road to Gargrave back onto the last bit of the A65.

There are hundreds of other options, but I've just tweaked the map above.

Gents, many thanks for your responses, I'm going to combine both suggestions. Just hope the weather holds out!!
