R1150R starter problem
Good day to you all.
I just joined the site today. I recently bought a 2005 R1150R and had exactly the same problem with severe starter motor noise resulting in the starter not engaging, terrible noise etc. I took the bike to BMW Motorrad and they ordered a new flywheel and new starter motor, plus other sundry parts - which took 3 weeks to get to Hanoi where I live (at a cost of around $US 2,000), I hope to get my bike back by the end of this week... Not a good start.. I only had the bike for 3 days when the problem surfaced - exactly the same as you describe..... I hope it will be plain sailing from here...
