Hi All , any one know how to get a fm radio to work on the bike? i like to listen to radio two,i have a starcom digital and a 550 Zumo so need somthing compatable ?

Pure highway with decent aerial. Use it velcrod to headstock and into an Autocom. Works great and of course its digital so one up on FM (depending on your point of view). Power via a lead mini usb into one of the DIN sockets. Remarkably waterproof too (ish - it needs a squirt of de-watering spray occasionally)

Can you post a link to this as i like listening to the radio on the move but use me Samsung Galaxy at moment and battery life is crap with it.

Pure Highway works well. When i got mine it came with a stick on aerial which I put on the lefthand side of the screen.Radio is secured above the speedo using the car mounting bracket kinda cut down...Even in the rain. You'll need a cig lighter for power from the bike, plug it into the starcom as you would your mp3. Thats it.

Having done a quick search.... a bundle for around £100/QUOTE]

Hundred quid? I think you'll find £27 is enough:

I've got the previous version and its a fab dab. The audio-out lead is the aerial, so no need for anything extra. It'll last 10 hours on a set of re-chargable batteries, and is small enough to velcro to the cross bar - where you can operate the buttons easily (most importantly the "standby" to shut it up when you need to concentrate).

Thanks for that... out of stock, but put it on reminder so to speak.....will that plug straight into the autocom then?:) Also for something like radio one will it keep going off station when you're moving around ie retune necessary or is it pretty good?

Had a Dab Pure Highway powered from bike, little external aerial, cable into autocom. Worked ok , if signal lost just goes silent. Had it mounted in a bag.Set station before setting out. 99% solid signal. Took it off when AC50ing bike for winter. Interested to hear it is waterproof ish. May refit then i can change stations on the move:thumb

My Pure is mounted below the 660 using the magnetic car holder do da. You need to make up something to mount it on though. Flat bit of fibreglass and a s/s u bolt like the ones you get with sat navs. This way you can change stations on the move and take it off the bike easily.

Leave mine on all the time, even in the rain. They dont say they are waterproof though. Mines been on 3 years.

That was my thought as well, in the Specifications it says it is RDS so I assume it will re-tune like a car radio :nenau

Yep, straight into the autocom.

Nope, it's locked on to the station you've selected - you don't "tune" a DAB radio, you pick a station and that's it anywhere there's coverage.

RDS stands for Radio Data System, and describes the ability to send text (data) on a "sideband" of the main signal - hence you get the name of the station etc.

"Begs the question why?

It has no built in aerial, it needs an inline volume knob adding, it costs twice as much."

Thats for the Pure Highway on my Bike, as it has no volume control, and without a proper aerial forget it for reception.
You pays yore money
