My Packtalk Bold has developed a new and annoying habit of turning the radio on for no apparent reason. It does not seem to happen on the other three units we have, just the one linked to the nav6.

Anyone else experienced this? (I searched on here and on Google, another forum someone said it was common)

Any ideas how to prevent it?

The units were all updated recently. Maybe it’s a “new, improved, feature… “

That rather Bold of it to behave like that.

Download the app onto your phone (if you haven’t already) and check device settings in there. Could be something like voice activated sensitivity being to high. Perhaps a full reset will solve the problem.

Mine does that when its connected to my Zumo XT and the zumo switches off when I turn the bike's ignition off. It usually happens about 5-10 minutes after the zumo switches off if the Packtalk bold is left on. I've just got into the habit of switching the packtalk off if I stop for a coffee or lunch.

Yup... My son and I are touring in Italy and frequently have to say 'Cardo...radio off!' when it spontaneously thinks to turn it on for us. On another matter, I try to get him to say 'patisserie' or 'misery' as that turns Siri on through his cardo . I have a Google phone so no such problems

Don't know why it does it or why it thinks it has heard the command to turn the radio on...

I recently switched from a Cardo Freecom 2X to a 4X.
I started having the radio issue as well. It seems it is voice commands (2X doesn't have them) that the Cardo thinks it's being said.
I disabled them, as I never use them (Siri straight away), problem solved.

Try giving it the verbal command Cardo Radio Off
I do, but it gets wearing repeating myself - I think it did it three or four times this morning in 3 hours riding

’erself has checked that my jacket isn’t touching it

It does seem to be a response to a sudden loud comment or cough

Sorry mate but that's my limit of knowledge, maybe an email to Cardo support will help.

going to reset it and hope that sorts it out. And remind it that there are only two forms of English. English English, and Wrong. :)

Weirdly mine seems to do it if I have taken the helmet off and its sitting somewhere. Thankfully not when I'm riding.

I do not have such issues with my Sena SRL.

Reset it, confirmed it’s in English (UK) but unfortunately there’s no option to disable the FM radio.

Will see how it goes, and will speak to Cardo if it keeps doing it. Will report back if any news.

Thanks for suggestions etc.

Mine does it probably every trip and several times at that. Mates Bold has stared to do it on occasions
No biggy to tel it to go off just a little tedious
Yeah, it’s just that I’m out having fun, and possibly concentrating, and it’s an unwanted & unnecessary distraction.
