Anyone know what the best foamie is for an Adventure? I don't want to have to lug K&N cleaner/lube RTW with me..

Stick with the standard ....

Don't know if you've considered this but if your bike should get drowned the original filter will be far superior at keeping out water from the inlet tract, foam tends to act like...well a sponge...and lets water get through too easily. K&N are built to last but most other foam air filters (my experience with race car) tend to degrade fairly rapidly and deposit tiny particles of foam into the inlet tract - not good.

If you mus t change from the O/E filter then K&N should be good, whats a small can of sray oil going to do space wise. Don't forget though you need to be able to wash the filter out and this might be so easy if your in the middle of nowhere. :)

You don't need to lug cleaner and oil around for a K&N, wash it in warm soapy water you'll be surprised how much filth comes out, washing up liquid is great, dry it and oil with any light spray oil, WD40 is fine or a spray light oil.

K&N oil is only a light oil coloured pink so you can see where it goes.

i wouldn't put a k&n filter on my lawnmower - i think they're totally unsuitable for road vehicles where the filter isn't regularly replaced.
Motorsports are ok cos the filters get changed every meeting - or 'should' do.
my experience shows they break up after a length of time and rot at the bottom edges, leaviing a bloodty great hole.
Its only cotton after all.

Don't much like foam ones either that break up internally and disappear down your engine.
