What is the consensus on wiring up fogs/additional lights?

Seperate loom with independent switch

Or

Spliced in to side/headlights...

Thouhhts opinions appreciated

If I ever get round to fitting the FF50 driving lamps and Micro DE fog lamps to my 1200, on the lightbar kindly provided by that very nice Mr Hooton, I'll be fitting separate looms for both sets with the driving lamp relay spliced into the main beam feed and the fog lamp relay switched via a separate handlebar switch.

I have additional LED driving lights wired into both main and high beams on the GS - spliced both into headlight wiring. meant it as a temporary fix but that was about four years ago and has worked perfectly well for about 50k so seems to be fine.

Depends whether you want them to enhance dip or main beam and how you want them to work.

'Autoswitch' or on/off switch + relay for extra dip or relay triggered by dip.

Relay triggered by main beam for extra mains, no on/off switch.

I wired mine through a 3 way switch. Made up a mini loom thingy so when the switch (on clock panel) is in the middle the spot lights are off. If I put the switch UP they come on with the main beam and if the switch is in the DOWN position the come on with dipped beam. :thumb2
