Thunder said:Just been reading through the wiring instructions and I was wondering if the switch is on, does it stay on until you physically push it to turn off, or does it let the lights work in conjuction with the main lights? What I meean is if wired through high beam then will work with main light.

But the switch should be wired in the feed circuit, or the low current feed from the OE bikes main beam circuit that goes to the relay.
So, the LED will be one colour when the lights are off and then change colour when the fog lights are on, does that make sense?
You will only have a live feed going to the switch when the main beam is switched on. Then only when the switch is pressed will it then allow current to pass to your fog lights.

, I posted that far too early in the morning.Pressurized said:Flame me if you will but aren't fog lights pointless on a motorcycle?
I mean, you have to mount them around about the beak level, say 1.5 m above the ground. Aren't fog lights supposed to be as close to the ground as possible - like below the bumper of a car - and won't you just get dazzled by the reflection of the lights from the fog ahead when they're mounted high up?

Is it possible to wire the PIAA loom without using the switch?
Looking at the loom the switch has 2 white wires and one black. One of the whites goes to the main beam to get a low level feed for the relay. Can I simply join the other white and black wire to remove the switch ?
Thanks in advance.

the PIAA and the Migsel bar make a great combination as far as I'm concerned
JohnP said:Thunder, I'm really impressed with your light set up. Which models of PIAA lamps are you using and did they come as a kit including wiring harness and waterproof switch.
I used a set of 002 and 001 lamps, the 002 are rated as 35watts with super white bulbs equivelent to 55 watts and he 001 (the oval lamps) use "conventional" 55 watt bulbs.
