Riding around in the rain yesterday couldn't see any thing with the
visor down :(

After something like fogcity etc but noticed some arn't compatable with Arai

Any views :o

I had the same problem recently and posted a similar question.

Schtum and others recomended these and I must admit it does the trick. it also comes with a chin piece to stop the draught coming up under the chin piece.

If they are not available on ebay any good motorcycle shop should do them but I paid £11 for mine.

I bought one of the Fog City Hyper Optiks inserts for my Tour X from the Arai servicing unit at the NEC Bikeshow this year and it's excellent, available here - Give them a call first to check size first...

I'll second the Huff. I had a Foggy, it stopped the misting up but I still had a draft blowing up making my eyes water.

The chin piece on the huff, although not fitting over my chin has block the gap stopping the upward draft. Only drawback for me is that if not carefully moulded to shape across your nose, can become quite painful after a while. Stops misting up pretty well.

Cheers :thumb

I wear glasses so the Huff might be a problem as it is when i wear masks at work :(
the draughty chin has been sorted with my Hein Gericke storm collar :)

I fitted a Pinlock insert to my visor. I purchased an insert for the XG9 helmet which is the largest Pinlock visor manufactured. It does not have the nasty cut-outs to go around the visor vents and gives a huge vision area.

The trick is to drill the holes smaller than the pins and enlarge them gradually until the pins can be forced into the holes.

Also, drill the holes slightly narrower than the visor insert. Flex the visor flat, fit the Pinlock and when released the curve tightens the insert to make a perfect seal.

If it buckles slightly when curved, cut the groves slightly deeper on the insert until it fits perfectly.

I have a chin guard to cut out wind from the front of the helmet and can sit a traffic lights with the visor closed, in the rain, without it misting.

Finally, don’t be put off by spotty shop assistants who tell you “you cant fit the Pinlocks to the Tour X"

Fog City works a treat - you can sit there stopped at the lights with your visor down and breath as hard as you can and it wil not mist up :thumb

PS Why, when the TourX is probably one of the draughtiest helmets out there is it also one of the worst to mist up :nenau

You wear glasses? oh dear.

I have fitted a pinlock insert to my Astro-R. Superb, doesn't mist up at all, but the glasses mist up BIG time. Must be the only place in the helmet for the moisture to go.
I tried some Fogtech on the glasses which was highly recommended on this board, but it needs skilled application. It just left streaks on my glasses which I cannot stand.
Now considering contact lenses or laser treatment!!
If you find a good solution, let us know.

I can recommend Fog City. I tried one for the first time last weekend, covered over 800 miles with around 600 in the rain and no misting whatsoever. BTW I have an Arai Signet GT and ordered the Aria specific insert which fits perfectly and does not impair vision.
