Hi,

I'm riding on my GS almost every day to work and I'm filtering traffic a lot ( London ), so I was wondering if there are some foldable aftermarket mirrors that can be fitted to GS to allow fold them quickly and unfold to same exact position? I did quite like the mirrors on my RR, which I was able to fold/unfold in matter of seconds. I googled a bit but couldn't find anything useful.

Didn't you tick the "folding mirrors" box when you specced the bike? They're also available as part of a package with the retractable cylinders and bendy-bar-end options, but I'm not sure you can have them dealer fitted, factory fit only.

Should have kept your 1000 RR, mate.

This GS life just ain't suited to you and London.

PS Fit some Oberon bar end mirrors if you are really struggling. It will add a pleasing Streetfighter look to your steed. Alternatively, move. A village in Shropshire is advertising for an idiot. You may face a bit of competition but my pound says you'll be a shoe-in.

I'm not struggling, but would be nice to have. Even If I had naked bike, mirrors would be a problem, only sports bike have this design where you can fold them when you need it and unfold them right to the same position. I was thinking if there is such product on the market where it allows you to return to exact same position.

Ps. Thanks for other, less serious responses. I knew I would get this kind of audience after posting this..lol

There are some mirrors i think which fit ktm's but i think you need an adaptor i have the problem with my 1150 and also want to be able to fold in for offroad.

Clip a riderscan mirror to the screen and take them off?

being a member of the IAM , i dont think i would like to be riding so close to traffic that i have to fold my mirrors in to get passed….each to their own though ,,ride safe

Folded mirrors reduces width and drag allowing swifter progress

I am intrigued by the exact circumstance that folding mirrors are required. Is it so they don't shatter when you get knocked off because you are riding like an idiot?

I personally find that the gs mirrors are the same height as van and 4x4 mirrors so when filtering in rush hours its quite common to get 2 hi mirrored vehicle's in both lanes of traffic. The bars are that flipping wide that i have to virtually stop to safely pass through gaps sportsbikes sail through. Made worse by those that either cant be arsed to move over or wont on principle.

I usually end up moving over to let faster bikes through. So folding mirrors would be very useful.

Even though the mirrors are narrower than the end of the bars they are still too close for comfort in my view.
