As started by Cookie :bow and continued by Steppers :bow :bow Today I have been thinking about this and sumat in the back of my old brain sparked a memory. So into the shed I go and dig out the Torque Wenches ;) Forgetting big Bertha ( see original thread ) I said forget her. OK. Right, then I shall continue. I set the wrenches to normal FP and NM and tightened various nuts and bolts on the Vastly Superior 1100 using these.

Then I tried my, cough, cough, year old pointy thing against them and found   That, apart from my failing eye sight there was bugger to choose from them. Mr Pointy was reading a few below but realistically not enough to make any differance. Probably cost a few Pounds a few Cough, cough years ago.

I'm a girl, but I know how you guys are thinking:
You are like a crow - you like shiny things! ;)
And you like things with buttons and knobs, and if there is an adjustment function, and it cost a lot of money - then you just HAVE to buy it!And if it makes a lot of noise - then it is just perfect!

The old, simple and cheap things are may be even better, but that is not an issue for you - Am I right here guys? :D

 Liv.

I've got one of those hi-tech torque wrenches .

In fact, i got all my high tech tools out for photographing ( for insurance purposes), in case i have to make a claim, and they don't believe me.

Who needs any other tools ??

Torque wrench measures from 0 up to 150 :D

Sorry St Eptoe (copywright Ogmios) lack of forward planing, I just knew that I would have the Vastly Superior and Fastest Red 1100 in the future.

Never seen a proper GS in that yukky Green colour. :D :D ;)

Hi Steptoe

The Teng is just about the biggest you can get on a 1/2" drive... I needed it to torque up the rear drive nuts on my Ginetta... sold the car now... :tears

Still.I'm sure I can find something that'll be within 52 to 250 ft.lb (70-350 Nm) :D
