Hey folks
I recently picked up a 2004 GS adventure from farmboy last week and am thoroughly delighted with it. The bike has just developed a knock from the front wheel when I go over rough ground or speed ramps, it feels and sound like a clunk if that makes sense. I have pulled on the front wheel with the bike on the center stand to see if there is any movement in the ball joint but can't detect any. On checking the front discs I found rotational movement of about 2 to 3 mm in the offside and about 1 maybe 2 mm in the near side. I have read here that it could be that the bolts although tight have worn the hole underneath is this right.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

have a look at your disc bobbings to see if they is much movement in the disc rocking it. they might be warn or the little washers are missing

Cheers moonhead 911 that's what I was thinking after searching here and then finding the rotational movement in the discs. I presume I can order the relevant bits and pieces from the bmw independent suppliers
