Footpeg lowering?

I'm just about to order at footpeg lowering kit (WUN-8160334) from NN and thought that I would just ask if anyone has some experience with these.

The kit should lower the pegs by 40 mm on my R1150GS and I just wonder if that will make the gear shift and braking feel very awkward. It would certainly be nice with that extra stretch of the knee, but if I end up with cramped feet instead, I haven't really gained a lot.

Any experience/comment is appreciated. :bow

Footpegs

The y supply extentions for both linkages so both pedels are exactly the same but lower, go for it mine have been a real sucess and sooo much more comfortable. About 83,000 miles on them now with no complaints.

Where did you get the extentions for the gear and brake leaver? - and what make are they? I have had a look around but so far I have only found the footpeg lowering kit.

I fitted R1100S footpegs from Motorwks at approx £15-20, they might not be as posh as the lowering kits but are cheaper and do the same thing. With a bit trimmed of the back edge, K footpegs fit also.

I have the Migsel lowered footrests and simply adjusted my levers to suit, not tried them on a long run yet but off on a european jaunt soon.

ditto - very happy with them on 3 long trips to the Alps/Croatia

They come as part of the kit, not sure but it might have been motor works
either one or the other but you should get all the bits whoever sells it. Probably all made in the same place anyway.

raised the seat by 3" for me that was a better idea than lowering the pegs. I've never been keen on that idea. Has made a world of difference to comfort for not much money.

Been there got the T shirt...wasted time and money in the process.

As you mention no point in lowering pegs and ending up with them forward too.

After a lot of research (most of which is documented on this forum somewhere!) the best approach for me was the Fastway "pegs" that lower and move back (about 1 inch). I also raised the seat too!

Can anyone tell what these are?

I now have a lower seat on my 1150 GSA and the bend in my knee hurts on long runs (multi day) lower pegs might be the answer as a taller seat isn't :)

Has anyone got any old 1150 lower pegs they don't use?

Pics not very clear, but they look like standard pegs without the rubbers.

I'm about to try a pair of Pan European pegs. Picked up a good pair for £20 posted the other day, just need to find time to fit them, and make up the necessary spacers for them to fit.

Would they not make the pegs too low? I'm regularity scuffing my boots in spirited twisties and the lowered pegs would reduce the lean angle significantly?
