Due to painfull arthritic knees I would like to move the footrest foreward and lower on my 2003 R1150R, I know motorworks do a lowering kit but with postage it works out at about £150. I wondered if 1150GS footrest plates would fit and put the pegs in a better position, then I would try breakers.
and would I have to alter the brake pedal and gearchange.
It's made it worse putting a low seat on the bike.
any inf appreciated thanks.

Foot pegs

Don't be put off by the price I fitted these years ago and they are brilliant, I
got terrible cramps in my legs as they were such tight fit. These come with extensions for gear and brake lever and are widely adjustable so bite the bullet,

I've got Pan European pegs on mine. :thumb2 You have to make up a small bracket out of angle ally or they won't fit properly. They do make quite a difference though. :clap

Any chance of a photo or drawing please?

Yep, no probs, but will have to wait until the weekend though. :thumb2

I've taken some pics on my phone today. Dunno when I'll get chance to upload them (away with work) but if you send me your number I'll text them to you. I see you're not a signed up member so you can't PM me but if you don't want to post your number give it to someone who's signed up and get them to do it. I'm pretty sure I've still got some of the angle ally I used in my workshop somewhere. If youre still going ahead I can chop some off and send it to you FOC. :thumb2

Plus, I see you're in Essex, if you want to try my GS for size (footpeg position wise) I'm pretty sure we could meet up somewhere in the middle one weekend if you want. :nenau Lemme know. :thumb2

The Migsel ones worked well for me on an R1150GS. Sold them ages ago though.

Try Fastaway pegs. I have some on my 1100 and they are very good = broader than standard pegs too

gs footrests

well I managed to purchase a pair of GS 1150, 2002 footrest plates, from a well known auction site, complete with footrests, gear change inc all linkages, foot brake pedal with linkage, for £70. fitted it to my R1150r. last week. and it's completely transformed the bike, combined with low seat and handlebar risers. It's moved the footrest position 3" foreward and 2" lower.

Having searched and found this thread some time back I bought a pair of Pan pegs from eBay and finally had a play with them fri evening. Ill be trying them out in a bit, so will report back later. I am a bit worried I've not been able to lower the pedals enough, but we'll see.:blast
