Cowering in a solipsistic funk
With the weather being what it is in Britain at this time of year, there's all sorts of crap on the roads. I find that on smaller roads, where one might want to stand up on the pegs slightly, the amount of mud being flung around causes the footpegs to become very slippery, which doesn't feel safe at all.

In desperation during a particularly muddy ride last weekend, I decided to pull the footpeg rubbers off and worry about it later. Well to my surprise they are actually detachable :D

Yep I agree, my foot slid off the rh peg whilst green laning a few months back, causing me to take a diversion through a thankfully thinly planted wood at about 35mph, I removed the rubbers at the time & I remember thinking then that the bike felt more secure without them. They are still in my pocket now and I doubt if I'll ever fit them back on again.

Regards Shep

Yep - I took mine off after discovering fording makes them a bit slippery :)

They have been off for the last 6,000 miles or so and won't go back on till I sell the bike - esp. as I have now got my Fastways fitted :D

Anybody notice extra vibration through the pegs with the rubbers off?? I assume they're there to absorb vibes.

Yes they are. Just wear thick soled boots.;)

Got a set of these Fastways myself, haven't had a chance to fit them yet.

They do look the biz. :)

Any chance of a picture of the fastways fitted ?

Yep - mine look like HMarc's - except I have mine in the lower position :)
